Our Environmental Policies

Environmental awareness is extremely important to Mandalay and we acknowledge that both large and small businesses have a huge role to play in helping to protect the environment. That's why we are proud to announce that our new stationery designs launching in October are printed onto 100% quality recycled card. The new designs can also be finished with an eco friendly ribbon which has been woven from 100% post consumer recycled polyester i.e. recycled from plastic bottles!

In addition, as part of Mandalay's continuing commitment to environment protection, we take great care to recycle all paper, printer ink cartridges and all other waste materials.

All the packaging that we use for your orders is either recycled or recyclable. From the tissue paper and bubble wrap and packing tape that we wrap your order in for protection, to the cardboard boxes that we deliver your order in.

As our business uses large amounts of paper and card, we have tried to minimize the environmental impact of our production activity as much as possible. All pulps used to produce our papers are sourced from sustainable and renewable forests and plantations with FSC certification and are elemental chlorine free (ECF). This means that all our paper originates from manufacturers who practice sustainable wood production, meaning that growth of trees exceeds their harvesting.

The FSC is an independent, non-governmental, not for profit organization established to promote the responsible management of the world’s forests. It provides standard setting, trademark assurance and accreditation services for companies and organizations interested in responsible forestry. Products carrying the FSC label are independently certified to assure consumers that they come from forests that are managed to meet the social, economic and ecological needs of present and future generations. FSC has offices in more than 45 countries.

All FSC certified forests must comply with FSC’s rules about how the forests should and should not be managed. When a forester decides to become FSC certified, he or she will make changes to comply with the relevant FSC requirements and become FSC certified. This is how FSC has a direct and permanent positive impact on the world’s forests and the people living from, in and around the forest.

The FSC Principles and Criteria describe how the forests have to be managed to meet the social, economic, ecological, cultural and spiritual needs of present and future generations. They include managerial aspects as well as environmental and social requirements. In fact FSC rules are the strictest and FSC’s social and environmental requirements the highest.
