Our very own Katy is taking part in the London Marathon 2010 on the 25th April. She is busily training and we have no doubt she will complete the 26 miles within 4 hours!! She will be running to raise money for Centrepoint and would really appreciate your support. Centrepoint are a fantastic charity helping homeless and troubled young people. Wedding Ideas Award Winners!

Friday 22nd January was not our usual kind of a day, dressed to the nines and nails painted, we were at the Wedding Ideas awards ceremony. Held at Andaz Hotel, Liverpool Street these awards have become one of the most important dates in all wedding professionals diaries. Hosted by Jenni Falconer, it has also become rather glam. Wedding suppliers are only nominated for an award through recommendations from the people that have used them. I know everyone says it, but we were so surprised and totally chuffed when Mandalay was announced as the best stationery category winner, and it's thanks to you guys that we won. So, a big THANK YOU to everyone who voted for us.

We have launched a range of Eco wedding stationery designs. Not only do they look amazing, but are environmentally friendly too! Printed onto 100% recycled card and finished with eco ribbons, made from recycled plastic bottles, what a talking point for your guests! These designs can be completely personalised too. Katy

Look who's joined the Mandalay team? Katy Gooch has succumbed to the charms of the wedding stationery industry, taking over from Pui Fong as our Order Manager. After doing a degree in jewellery and silver smithing, Katy set up her own hand-bag and accessories business before moving into design and branding. With her design background it's great that she's decided to join the Mandalay team and we welcome her with big hugs.

<b>Race for Life</b>

Race for Life

We had such fun running the 5k Race For Life at Blackheath. We all ran to celebrate Kirsten, our Design Director recovering from breast cancer. We far exceeded our expectations in terms of sponsorship money raising a fantastic £1810 so far, so a massive thanks to everyone that supported us.

None of us had ever done anything like this before and we all had a brilliant time. Our kids joined in, dressing up in hats and pink t-shirts. The atmosphere was amazing and reading the backs of everyone's t-shirts about loved ones lost was heartbreaking yet terrifically inspiring. It has made us want to do it again next year.

As well as Race for Life we are planning to donate a percentage of all the sales of any Mandalay designs that are finished with a baby pink ribbon to Cancer Research UK. We are looking forward to launching this and shall keep you posted.

Great news we want to share with you - Llangoed Hall spotted us at the National Wedding show, loved our stationery and want to offer our ranges to their brides. Denise Van Outen and Lee Mead recently announced their engagement and Denise wasted no time in visiting the National Wedding Fair at Olympia to start making plans for their wedding day. As well as checking out designer wedding dresses and a wedding cake worth £3,000, Denise and her chief bridesmaid, Tamara Edwards stopped by Mandalay's stand to have a good look at our stationery designs and colours. Our gorgeous Paradise design in pink, full of flowers and butterflies caught their eye! You can see this picture and more photos of Denise at the Wedding Fair in the March issue of Look Magazine page 28.

National Wedding Show

The next National Wedding Show is at Earls Court on 1st - 3rd October and the NEC 8th - 10th October. The Wedding Show is a great place to have a look at everything you need for your wedding, all under one roof and pick up great deals too! Grab a glass of champagne while you watch the catwalk show, then come and meet the Mandalay team at stand number F10 for Earls Court and B21 for the NEC! We can talk through your ideas and you can pick up free samples of your favourite designs. <b> Cheese cake!</b>

Mandalay’s Managing Director, Jill, got married in September last year. Her great find was using her local cheese shop to make her cheese wedding cake. The “cake” was absolutely gorgeous, doubled up as the cheese course and was a fraction of the cost of a traditional wedding cake. A perfect credit crunching idea. www.cheese-board.co.uk
